About Costa Rica

Costa Rica is one of the most stable democracies in Latin America. It's a peaceful country that abolished the army in the year 1949. It has a universal educational system that encompasses the grades from preschool to university. Its living standards are relatively high.

The Costa Rican economy has strong tourism, technology and services sectors but still relies largely on agriculture.

The country is renowned for its natural beauty. There are beaches, volcanos, mountains, waterfalls and many other natural wonders. In these you will be able to find a great variety of plants and animals.

Spanish is the official language, but it's often possible to communicate in english.

Care should be taken when traveling around the country especially if you are carrying valuables or entering risky areas.
